General Detail and Photos

We have been fortunate to obtain detail from the USS Ashland "Ships Log". This detail traces the 1953 Arctic Cruise as the Ashland departed Norfolk VA (15 June 1953) and moved to Argentia, Sondrestrom, Thule, Saglek Bay, Resolution Island, Frobisher Bay, St. John's, Argentia, and New York (17 August 1953).

Our main interest is focused on activities pertaining to Pinetree Line long ranage radar stations - so we have extracted detail pertaining to Saglek (Hebron), Resolution Island (Sorry Bay and Cape Warwick), and Frobisher Bay.
