    COMMENTARY

    Personnel and Administration:

The normally heavy summer rotations brought the squadron to a level manning somewhat below established authorizations: however, no major problems are foreseen. Policies of "month gain for month losses" continue to yield gaps in manning. The outlook for the fall offers relief by November.

    Operations:

The Operations Section participated in 5 live and 12 simulated exercises, during the reporting period. Also this organization received an outstanding rating by the 64th Air Division Tactical Evaluation Team.

    Civil Engineering:

Canadian Marconi Company Diesel Overhaul Team completed the overhaul of the power plant diesels during this quarter. In reference to the heating plant, all plant equipment was painted and floor tile was installed on the entire floor. The vehicles assigned were driven a total of 12,347 miles during this reporting quarter. Preventative maintenance was performed in all fire fighting apparatus and equipment.

    Supply:

The Supply account was formerly transferred from Captain Katz to Captain Lowe on 19 April 1963. In June, a screening of squadron excesses was started. Several EATD items were shipped to other squadrons in the chain. Also an excess list of C&E tubes valued at over $16,000.00 was distributed to other squadrons. The other squadron requirements will be filled and the remaining shipped to Goose AB, Base Supply during July 1963.

    Communications and Electronics:

A DLM Maintenance Team accomplished its general overhaul of radar and communications equipment. Plans continue for the installation of the TACAN facility scheduled for completion this year.

    Medical:

Two persons, both military, sustained disabling injuries during this period.
