Information

An RCAF Tactical Air Control Centre is to be formed at 1 Air Division HQ, RCAF, Metz, France.

Intention

To form 6 Tactical Air Control Centre, RCAF (6 TACC, RCAF).

Execution

6 TACC, RCAF is to form effective 1 Jan 58.

Role

The role of the TACC is to:

    1. Control and co-ordinate the tactical employment of 1 Air Division fighter aircraft assigned by 1 Air Division HQ.
    2. Control and co-ordinate the air defence forces assigned by 1 Air Division.
    3. Control and co-ordinate forces assigned for operational air training exercises.
    4. Maintain and liaison and effect co-ordination with adjacent TACCs and Sector Commanders.

Command

The officer appointed to command 6 TACC, RCAF, is to be known as the Sector Commander and is authorized to exercise the powers of a Commanding Officer as defined by QR (Air) Art. 1.02(xxi)(A)(iii).

Control

Control of the TACC is to be exercised by the AOC, 1 Air Division, RCAF.

Establishment

Establishment COD is to be effective 1 November 1957.

The transfer or porting of personnel is to be arranged by 1 Air Division HQ, RCAF and AFHQ.

The maintenance of personnel records is to be the responsibility of RCAF Support Unit, Metz.

Accounting

Pay and materiel accounting is to be arranged by the AOC 1 Air Division, RCAF and these services are to be provided by RCAF Support Unit, Metz.

Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 600.

For purposes of QR (Air) Art. 204.40 this formation is not designated as a flying unit.

Supply

The provision of materiel is to be arranged by the AOC’s 1 Air Division, RCAF and AMC in accordance with CAP 16 Vol. 1.

Accommodation and Messing

The provision of accommodation and messing is to be arranged by the AOC, 1 Air Division, RCAF.

Medical, Dental and Chaplaincy Services

The provision of medical, dental and chapliancy services is to be arranged by the AOC. 1 Air Division, RCAF.
